The Pensacola News Journal is reporting the city of Pensacola may sell the Fish House property in downtown Pensacola to the company that currently leases it. The Fish House’s parent company, Great Southern Restaurant Company subleases its location through Merrill Land LLC, which is owned by Collier Merrill. Merrill Land subleases its position from Seville Harbour Incorporated which holds the lease for the land from the city. The City lost a lawsuit over the Fish House restaurant’s lease, and selling the Fish House property, known as Pitt Slip, would net the city a million dollars and avoid it having to pay $425,000 in legal fees. The Pensacola City Council will decide whether to approve the agreement at its meeting on Thursday.
