Escambia County Sheriff’s deputies have arrested a homicide suspect after a police pursuit and traffic crash yesterday afternoon. Deon Harris was wanted for the January 2017 murder of Allen Ray Elliott. Elliott was found shot in the head January 6th near an apartment complex off Nine Mile Road and died at Sacred Heart Hospital. Deputies received information on Harris’ whereabouts and attempted to pull him over, but he refused to stop and struck another vehicle, injuring the driver. The pursuit ended near Davis Highway and Interstate 10, where Harris was arrested. Another suspect – 22-year-old Shaquille Jordan – was indicted in February 2017 for first degree felony murder in Elliott’s death.
