An Escambia County Sheriff’s deputy was injured in a traffic crash early Saturday morning. The Florida Highway Patrol said Deputy Bambi Sellars was driving her marked cruiser eastbound on Olive Road about 6:20 a.m. with the lights and sirens activated. As she attempted to pass a car near driven by 28-year-old Dorianne Dewitte, the car turned in front of the cruiser and there was a collision. Deputy Sellars was transported to Sacred Heart Hospital with minor injuries. Dewitte, who was not injured, was charged with failing to yield while making a left turn.
