With Independence Day just two days away law enforcement agencies across the Sunshine State remind residents that most fireworks are illegal in Florida. Of course, that doesn’t stop many people from Northwest Florida from going to Alabama where fireworks are legal to stock up for July 4th. In Florida, almost any kind of firework that flies or explodes is prohibited. That includes firecrackers, bottle rockets, sky rockets, roman candles, and many others. Sparklers, cracker balls and devices that stay on the ground are legal in Florida. Generally, any pyrotechnic assortment sold in a retail store or licensed roadside stand are legal as well.
