In an editorial published yesterday the Northwest Florida Daily News is calling for Okaloosa County School Superintendent Mary Beth Jackson to resign. An Okaloosa County grand jury report made public Friday said that Jackson will not be indicted on criminal charges. However, the grand jury continues to lack confidence in her abilities to serve as Superintendent of Schools for Okaloosa County and said they were concerned about her behavior, lack of leadership, and failure to fulfill her obligations as Superintendent. The editorial did point out that in spite of the turmoil within the school system Okaloosa County still received an A grade from the state for the 2017-18 school year, but they still called for her to resign.
