MILTON ALLIGATOR WARNING

The city of Milton has posted a new sign at Carpenter’s Park in Milton after two 4-foot alligators were seen at the bayou just south of the boat launch. The reads: “Danger: Beware of Alligators.” Parents are advised to keep an eye on their children in the park and not to feed any wildlife. to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission says a total of 274 major unprovoked alligator bites have been reported in the state of Florida over the last 70 years. The FWC said 8,455 nuisance alligators, were removed in 2017. An alligator may be deemed a nuisance, according if it is at least 4 feet long and poses a threat to people, pets or property.
