DELINQUENT TAXPAYERS

The Internal Revenue Service says 458 billion dollars is owed in back taxes from delinquent taxpayers and they are now enlisting other government agencies to help. The IRS is in the process of sending more than 360,000 names of individuals who owe $51,000 or more in delinquent taxes to the U.S. State Department who are now revoking or refusing to renew passports for delinquent taxpayers. The IRS can also seize property, garnish wages and take legal action. Those who are delinquent in back taxes should contact the IRS to set up a payment plan to avoid harsher penalties.
