DOWNTOWN PARKING

The Pensacola Downtown Improvement Board has voted to end its contract with the management company that enforces parking in downtown Pensacola. The DIB will issue a 30-day notice notifying Premium Parking it is ending its contract with Premium Parking and will take over parking management on September 14th. The decision was made after DIB Interim Executive Director Lissa Dees conducted a review and found the DIB could save $150,000 annually by taking over parking management. In the next 30 days, the DIB will hire parking enforcement officers and offer a new way to pay for parking with a text or smartphone app.
