The Florida Division of Elections says about 13 million Floridians are registered to vote in the August 28th primary elections. Registered Democrats outnumber registered Republicans, by about 245,000 – 4.83 million to 4.59 million. The total of “No Party Affiliation” voters, which makes up about 27 percent of the electorate, has climbed to 3.49 million, up 24 percent since the 2016 primaries. Not surprisingly, nearly a third of all of the registered Democrats are in South Florida. However, Republicans dominate in North Florida, Southwest Florida and many suburban areas.
