The Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office says a Jay High School freshman has been charged with attempted murder after shooting his father yesterday morning. 15-year-old Jackson Baxley, got into a dispute with his parents over his girlfriend and was forbidden to date or talk to her. Around 6:45 Monday morning Baxley was armed with a shotgun at his home and his father attempted to take the weapon from him and was shot in the leg. As law enforcement officers arrived on scene, Baxley fled and deputies pursued him, eventually tasing him twice. He was charged with attempted murder, attempted arson, making a firebomb and resisting arrest without violence.
