A former correctional officer has been sentenced for stealing drugs from the work camp at Century Correctional Institution in North Escambia County. Officers at the facility determined that a quantity of K-2 – synthetic marijuana – that had been taken from an inmate was missing from the evidence locker. 26-year-old Joshua Harrell, was charged with the theft and pleaded no contest to grand theft of a controlled substance and destroying evidence. He has been sentenced to five days in the county jail and 36-months probation.
