The Pensacola News Journal is reporting that a well-known Pensacola priest has been removed from his office. The Roman Catholic Diocese of Pensacola-Tallahassee said Bishop William Albert Wack removed Monsignor James Flaherty as the diocese’s judicial vicar, director of office of the tribunal, director of the lay formation institute and director of priestly formation. Circumstances surrounding the dismissal were unclear, but a spokesperson for the Diocese said they did not involve sexual abuse of a minor.
