At least 27 of the 45 baby sea turtle nests in Gulf Islands National Seashore were lost from the effects of Tropical Storm Gordon. Biologists said the 45 nests extended from from Navarre Beach to Perdido Key and while 27 were lost due to erosion, 17 of those nests experienced over-wash, but weren’t necessarily destroyed. Those nests will be monitored closely to see if they do hatch.
