GULF POWER STORM TEAM

A 76-person Gulf Power storm team is delaying its departure to the Carolinas to assist with power restoration following Hurricane Florence. Gordon Paulus, Gulf Power spokesperson, said with the storm weakening as it approaches land the anticipated crew levels are being adjusted. Paulus said once the utilities in North and South Carolina assess how much damage there is the Gulf Power team could be called to assist as they have done nearly 40 times since 2008 to help other energy companies restore power.
