The Florida Highway Patrol said a 28-year-old Escambia County man has been charged with the death of two people killed in a traffic crash early yesterday morning in Ensley. Troopers say Just before 3am Jamie Hamrick, was southbound on Old Palafox just south of Hood Drive when his Honda Civic ran off the road into a ditch, became airborne, and overturned. 25-year-old La’Phontae Lewis, and 32-year-old Antion Lindsay, were ejected and pronounced dead at the scene. Hamrick was not injured and was charged with two counts of DUI manslaughter and driving with a suspended license in crash resulting in death. Five days ago he was arrested on an unrelated DUI charge and was out on bond at the time of the crash.
