The Escambia County commission will soon have a new member. Robert Bender, running in District 4 to replace Grover Robinson who is running for Mayor of Pensacola, won the Republican primary in August with 27 percent of the vote. The primary was closed to non-Republican voters because of a write-in candidate. But that candidate, Leigh Anne Bell, has now withdrawn from the race, which means Bender now takes that seat.
