The four counties in the First Judicial Circuit have all agreed to limit the professional fees paid to Medical Examiner Doctor Andrea Minyard to $450,000 a year. Doctor Minyard has agreed to a sixty-day extension of her current contract, which currently pays $824,000 a year. The State’s Medical Examiners Commission will decide by November 9th whether or not to reappoint her, and then will send their recommendation to the Governor. The sheriffs in the district oppose her reappointment. If Doctor Minyard vacates her position, a medical examiner from outside the area would handle the cases.
