HURRICANE EVACUATED SCHOOL STUDENTS

School students whose families across the Florida Panhandle who had to evacuate areas affected by Hurricane Michael are relocating to communities across Northwest Florida. So far the Escambia County School District has enrolled four students with the possibility of more children coming to the area. Santa Rosa County schools have enrolled 11 students and Okaloosa County schools have enrolled 40 students, and the numbers are growing. After Hurricane Maria, Florida Governor Rick Scott made getting students enrolled around the state easier by waiving the mandate of immediately providing shot records and birth certificates.
