GONZALEZ NATURAL GAS LEAK

A gas leak from a broken main in Gonzalez in Escambia County closed the area around the intersection of Old Chemstrand Road and Highway 95A yesterday afternoon after a backhoe struck a natural gas line just before 2 p.m. A cloud of gas was visibly leaking from the line near the railroad tracks and CSX Railroad  halted all rail traffic in the area as a precaution. The leak was repaired by Pensacola Energy about 2:40 p.m. and the roadway reopened.
