3RD UTILITY WORKER DIES

The Florida Highway Patrol says a third utility company worker has died after a pickup truck pulling a U-Haul trailer hit them while they were repairing lines damaged by Hurricane Michael Wednesday evening near Chipley. Washington County Sheriff Kevin Crew said the driver – 37-year-old John Goedtke, who appeared to be intoxicated – fled the scene, and was arrested five miles away. the victims are 52-year-old George Cecil and 22-year-old Ryan Barrett, both from North Carolina; and 60-year-old James Ussery of Chipley, Florida. Goedtke was booked into the Washington County Jail on charges of DUI manslaughter, felony vehicular homicide and leaving the scene
