MOTION TO DISMISS FRAUD CHARGE

The former president of the Crestview Area Chamber of Commerce is trying to get a fraud charge against her dismissed. A motion filed by her attorney says Valerie Lott has mental health problems, including bipolar disorder, which keeps her from knowing right from wrong. Lott served as chamber president and office manager from 2015 to 2017 and is accused of useing more than $77,000 of chamber money for personal purchases. Her trial is scheduled to begin November 13th.
