BALLOT COUNT DEADLINE NOT EXTENDED

A federal judge has denied a request to extend today’s 3 p.m. deadline to recount ballots for a number of tight races in Florida, including the races for Governor and U.S. Senate. Susan Bucher, the Palm Beach County Supervisor of Elections, said her county needed more time to recount the ballots because they were using outdated machines, which could not handle the workload. She said her staff was in prayer mode to finish on time, but the likelihood was slim.
