A close call for a Beulah Academy of Science school bus yesterday morning when a power line fell on it. The bus was stopped on Beulah Road at Nine Mile Road when the line fell shortly before 6:30am. Fortunately, there were no students on the bus, and the driver was not injured. The bus did not hit utility pole and Gulf Power spokesman Jeff Rogers said a problem with a transformer caused the ground wire to overheat, which pulled the line from a holder causing it to fall on the bus. Rogers said a breaker immediately tripped and de-energized the line. About 2,200 Gulf Power customers including Beulah Middle School lost power for a time.
