A fugitive from Ohio has been arrested in Northwest Florida. Justin Smith, a former Ohio soccer coach on trial for sex crimes against a minor, was taken into custody by the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office Friday evening after being on the run for 45 days. Smith took off after slipping his ankle monitoring bracelet during his trial in late October. Okaloosa County deputies captured Smith at a townhome on Clifford Street near Fort Walton Beach just before 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Investigators said it was a dating site that ultimately led to Smith’s arrest. A woman was supposed to meet with Smith for a date in Florida, looked him up on the internet and found out who he was and called police.
