COAST GUARD TO BE PAID

As the partial government shutdown begins its second week the Coast Guard has announced it had found a way to pay its 42,000 members including the more than 200 men and women stationed at the Pensacola Naval Air Station Pensacola. Coast Guard members could have missed their first paycheck of January, but the Department of Homeland Security and the Coast Guard said it was a one-time action that applied to military members who served on active duty in the month of December and those reserve military members that drilled prior to the shutdown. However, if the shutdown lasts until January 15th, there is no guarantee that Coast Guard members will be continue to be paid.
