Gasoline prices may have their lowest start in the New Year since 2016. In Escambia County, prices have now fallen below $2.00 per gallon at several stations, including $1.97 Friday in Cantonment. Statewide,  drivers are finding gas prices below $2.00 a gallon at about 7 percent of gas stations. Since mid-October, the state average has declined a total of 62 cents. Last week’s average price of $2.18 per gallon is the lowest daily average price in Florida since July 2017.
