TURTLE EGG THIEF CHARGED

A man from Georgia has been charged in Federal Court with stealing the two turtle eggs in Gulf Shores, Alabama, last July. Kelly Ard from Social Circle, Georgia, is charged with violating the Federal Endangered Species Act. Ard was identified as the man seen in surveillance video at Crystal Shores East Condominiums with the eggs in his hand. During an interview with investigators, Ard confessed to digging up the nest and taking the eggs, which were found in a trash can at the condo.
