LAWSUIT AGAINST UNDERHILL DSISMISSED

The lawsuit filed against Escambia County Commissioner Doug Underhill by former County Commissioner Gene Valentino’s, has been dismissed. Valentino filed a libel lawsuit last July against Underhill and Ray Guillory, a 2014 Democratic candidate for County Commission  alleging that Guillory accused Valentino of engaging in affairs and marital infidelities. A Florida House committee voted Tuesday to put armed teachers in classrooms in response to the mass shooting at Parkland high school in Broward County. The Alabama Highway Patrol said an 85-year-old Wisconsin man was killed Friday in a two-car collision just west of Gulf Shores, Alabama. ALABAMA ESCAPEE RECAPTURED

An inmate who escaped from a Baldwin County work release center early Sunday morning has been recaptured. The Alabama Department of Corrections said 29-year-old John Johnson, Jr. was reported missing  during an inmate count at 2:30 a.m. on Sunday.
