PASSING ASTEROID

An asteroid will pass relatively close to earth today. Asteroid 2018 CB will safely pass our planet at a distance of about 39,000 miles. NASA estimates the small asteroid to be between 50 and 130 feet across. While  coming relatively close to the earth in space terms, it does not pose a threat to us.MORE

MILTON CHILD NEGLECT ARRESTS

Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s deputies have arrested three adults on child neglect charges after a traffic stop at Forsyth Street and old Bagdad Highway in Milton. MOLINO FIRE STATION HIT BY LIGHTNING

Escambia Fire-Rescue says the Molino Fire Station was struck by lightning yesterday morning about 10:30 damaging several electronic items. The strike knocked out power, radios and other electronic equipment at the fire station on Molino Road, but there was no fire and no injuries were reported. EAR-BITER ARRESTED

A 24-year-old Pensacola man was arrested Sunday after he bit off a piece of another man’s ear during a fight. Responding deputies found the victim with a bandage wrapped around his head and dried blood on his face. He told deputies the two got into a fight during an argument. MISSING TEENAGER LOCATED

The Escambia County Sheriff’s Office says one of two teenage girls – reported missing after they left Woodham Middle School Monday morning – has been located. 13-year-old Kalynn Meshell is apparently safe according to an update the Sheriff’s Office posted on social media yesterday afternoon.
