BROKEN WATER MAIN

Escambia County School District Deputy Superintendent Norm Ross said a water main break near Langley Avenue and Lanier Drive in Pensacola yesterday affected two nearby schools. Emerald Coast Utility crews worked to restore water service to Holm Elementary and Workman Middle School. Superintendent Ross said bottled water will be provided for students if necessary.MORE

Pensacola Police say an arrest has been made for the weekend bomb threat at the Bay Center. EXECUTION TO PROCEED

It appears the execution of the murderer of a University of West Florida student two decades ago will proceed as scheduled on February 22nd. Eric Branch’s appeal of his death sentence was denied Monday by the Florida Supreme Court, according to the State Attorney’s Office. Congressman Matt Gaetz has cancelled his Open Gaetz Day that was scheduled for today in the Ensley-Cantonment and Beulah areas of Escambia County because of the government shutdown. Gaetz said he would be staying in Washington to work.
