The Pensacola News Journal reports that Pensacola’s Mayor is not in favor of removing city’s Confederate monument, but said he would be in favor of adjusting it so that it celebrates the reunification of our country rather than its division. Grover Robinson said he thinks every community should be able to make their own decisions and that they are not made better by taking things down. Pensacola’s Lee Square monument was funded by the Ladies Confederate Monument Association of Pensacola and dedicated to “Our Confederate Dead” in 1891.
