PENSACOLA CARJACKER ARRESTED

The Escambia County Sheriff’s Office says a Pensacola man has been arrested after carjacking a woman then crashing the stolen vehicle.  The victim told responding deputies she was sleeping inside her home on Le Moyne Lane, when 40-year-old Jonathan Cook kicked in her front door, pointed a gun at her and demanded money. She told Cook she didn’t have any money, so forced her to go to an ATM at the Raceway Gas Station on Fairfield Drive where she was able to tell the clerk to call 911. A deputy arrived and ordered Cook out of the vehicle. Cook  reversed the stolen car into the deputy’s patrol car and took off. He eventually wrecked on Market Street and he was taken to a local hospital for treatment before being arrested and booked into the Escambia County Jail.
