Gulf Power Company has been presented with the Emergency Recovery Award by the Edison Electric Institute for their work restoring power to 120,000 customers after Hurricane Michael devastated the Florida Panhandle. The award recognizes member companies that put forth outstanding efforts to restore service promptly following a natural disaster. Gulf Power President Marlene Santos said as many as 7,500 line workers and storm personnel were on the ground at one time rebuilding and repairing the system.
