PANAMA CITY STATE OF EMERGENCY

For the 14th time, the Panama City Commission has extended the city’s state of emergency because of the lingering effects of Hurricane Michael. Bay County and other municipalities are continuing to extend the state of emergency. In December, then-Governor Rick Scott extended an executive order declaring a state of emergency in Bay, Okaloosa, Walton, Holmes, Washington, Jackson, Calhoun, Gulf, Franklin, Liberty, Gadsden, Leon, Wakulla and Jefferson counties until February 3rd. Panama City Attorney Nevin Zimmerman said the city will continue to extend the state of emergency for as long as the state’s order allows.
