A Freeport woman has been arrested by the Walton County Sheriff’s Office for helping to hide an escaped inmate. On Tuesday afternoon, 30-year-old Joshua Handley ran from detention deputies while on an inmate work crew. Some hours later Handley was found hiding under a bed inside a shed behind a house where 28-year-old Logan Hamilton lived. Hamilton knew Handley was an escaped prisoner, but did not notify law enforcement. Methamphetamine was also found in the shed and she was arrested on felony charges for harboring, concealing and aiding an escaped inmate and possession of methamphetamine and booked into the Walton County Jail.
