Residents of Bay County reported a shaking and rumbling that was felt throughout the county yesterday afternoon. Reports of houses shaking were reported from Callaway and Parker out to the west end of the Beach and the shaking lasted for about 20 seconds. Others reported hearing a loud bang. The United States Geological Survey recorded a 1.8 magnitude quake in Missouri around that time, but has not shown anything in this area on their live earthquake website. Officials with Tyndall Air Force Base said they are not currently conducting any operations that would produce that effect.
