ESCAMBIA COUNTY TO FUND ST ENGINEERING

On a 4-1 vote Escambia County Commissioners have agreed to contribute another 5 million dollars to the expansion of ST Engineering at the Pensacola International Airport. Commissioner Doug Underhill was the lone dissenting vote. The county’s total contribution to the project is now 15 million dollars, mostly from local option sales tax funds. The Pensacola City Council also voted this week to contribute another 5 million dollars to their previous 10 million-dollar commitment. The project is expected to create over 1,300 jobs.
