BODY OF MISSING BOATER RECOVERED

The body of a 7th Special Forces Group soldier who was thrown from a boat Sunday afternoon in Choctawhatchee Bay has been found in the Gulf of Mexico near Jetty East Condominiums. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission said 34-year-old Sergeant 1st Class Thomas Robinett was ejected from the 20-foot boat early Sunday afternoon after the boat took a hard turn. Robinett and 33-year-old Matthew Martinello, were thrown from the boat, which then traveled in circles. Robinett, was unable to swim because of a back injury and went under. Martinello was taken to a hospital and released the next day. The accident investigation revealed the men were not wearing life jackets, but alcohol is not believed to have been a factor.
