DELAYED TRAFFIC FATALITY

The Florida Highway Patrol says a second person has died following a traffic crash on Easter Sunday. Troopers say Nelson Riley died Sunday afternoon when Marie Simpkins failed to stop at a red light and collided with a car driven by Riley’s father. He died Monday from injuries sustained in the crash. Assistant State Attorney Greg Marcille says it’s likely Simpkins will face two counts of DUI manslaughter and two counts of vehicular homicide. Funeral services for both crash victims will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Mount Olive Baptist Church in Pensacola.
