A Pensacola man accused of torturing his girlfriend’s 2-year-old child with a shock collar and other implements was rushed from the Escambia County Jail to a hospital late Wednesday night after he was found hanging in his cell. 37-year-old Andrew Celaius was arrested April 9th on drug and weapon possession charges, but is facing a second round of charges related to the abuse of the child. Escambia County Sheriff David Morgan described Celaius’ alleged abuses as truly heinous, and said deputies had seized hours of self-recorded video of Celaius abusing the toddler. It is not known how long Celaius will remain hospitalized.
