The Federal Climate Prediction Center has issued their forecast for the 2019 Atlantic Hurricane season. They expect this season – which runs between June 1st and November 30th – to be near normal with between 9 to 15 named storms and as many as eight hurricanes. A weak El NiƱo is predicted, which will tend to reduce activity. However, warmer sea-surface temperatures and a strong African monsoon could increase activity.
