ESCAMBIA DEPUTY HURT IN TRAFFIC CRASH

The Florida Highway Patrol says an Escambia County Sheriff’s deputy suffered minor injuries after a driver crashed into his patrol vehicle and then fled the scene. Troopers say 50-year-old Juan Jose Fajardo, of Pensacola, was southbound on Pine Forest Road about 6:30 yesterday morning, when he ran the red light at Wilde Lake Boulevard, colliding with the deputy’s S.U.V. Fajardo fled the scene on foot, but was soon arrested and booked into the Escambia County Jail on charges of leaving the scene of an accident, driving without a license and failing to stop at a red light. The deputy was treated for minor injuries at Baptist Hospital and released.
