SUSPENDED OKALOOSA SCHOOL SUPERINTENDENT

Former Okaloosa County School Superintendent Mary Beth Jackson – who was suspended by Governor Ron DeSantis in January after children with special needs were abused by teachers – made her last plea for reinstatement before a Senate special master. The governor’s attorney says Jackson was aware of the abuse and didn’t take action to protect the health, safety and welfare of students of the school district. Jackson’s attorneys say she did take appropriate action. The special master will make a recommendation to the Senate to either uphold Jackson’s suspension or reinstate her.
