HIGHWAY 98 WIDENING

State Senator Doug Broxson says a project to widen four miles of Highway 98 through Gulf Breeze from four to six lanes is getting almost 70 million dollars from the Florida Department of Transportation. The project – which has been planned for some years – will widen four miles of the busy roadway from Bayshore Road to Portside Drive. Senator Broxson said a public hearing would be held next month to discuss utility relocation and other changes. He also said his goal is to see the highway widened through Gulf Islands National Seashore to the Pensacola Bay Bridge.
