The Bay County Sheriff’s Department says narcotics investigators made one of the department’s largest drug busts in recent years. Sheriff Tommy Ford said the 3 pounds of crystal methamphetamine seized was one of the top three busts in the past four years. The case began when 40-year-old Mikeyshia Akins-Smith, of Panama City was arrested after a traffic stop on felony warrants. A search of her vehicle turned up a pound of crystal meth. With information developed from the traffic bust, investigators served a search warrant on Wednesday at a residence on Sherman Avenue and seized the other 2 pounds of meth.
