ALABAMA HIGH-SPEED CHASE

A high-speed chase that began in Alabama late Saturday ended in Florida when the driver crashed his van into a tree just west of Century in North Escambia County. Deputies with the Escambia County Alabama Sheriff’s Office tried to make a traffic stop on the van in Alabama, but he refused to stop and crossed into Florida. The man continued south on Creamer Road, but failed to stop at a stop sign,  crossed Highway 4, and crashed into a tree about 6:30 p.m. The man, was airlifted by Life Flight helicopter to Baptist Hospital in Pensacola.  His identity has not yet been released.
