The hamburger chain Whataburger – which has more than 700 stores in 10 states – has been sold to the Chicago-based investment banking company BDT Capital Partners. The burger chain will remain headquartered in Texas, but will no longer be family-owned. Over 43,000 employees work in the fast-food restaurants which are open 24-hours a day.
