Ronald Rubin, Commissioner of Florida’s Office of Financial Regulation, who was suspended from office after an allegation of harassment by an agency employee, is suing Chief Financial Officer Jimmy Patronis and several others. The lawsuit alleges conspiracy and defamation by Patronis and his inner circle, and claim they used public humiliation and defamatory allegations to replace outsiders who might expose their unlawful activities. Rubin has been on administrative leave since May 10th amid an investigation into alleged inappropriate behavior toward an employee. Governor DeSantis has said he will take action once the inspector general investigation is completed.
