Pensacola Police say a panhandler was arrested after he attacked a woman in downtown Pensacola because she told a passerby not to give him money. The woman told authorities she was walking down Palafox Street when she saw another woman giving money to a man sitting on the sidewalk and told her to donate to a local homeless charity instead. The man – identified as 55-year-old William Hedrick – became angry and said “I will kill you!” then pushed her and grabbed her neck. Hedrick was arrested and booked into the Escambia County Jail on a $5,000 bond.
