The Escambia County School District has raised the starting salary for bus drivers, to $12.16 An hour and they are now paying for driver training. Steve Harrell, the School District’s director of Transportation, said it will take 3-4 weeks to become a School Bus Operator and they will be required to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License. The School District is accepting full time and substitute drivers for part-time employment.
